Our storms

Well, we got the winter storm as predicted. A couple inches of snow, followed by an inch plus of ice, followed by a couple more inches of snow. Almost 300,000 in our state lost power. Some still have not had their electricity restored. We, did not even have a flicker of lost power for this ice storm, which was much different than 2003's when we had no electricity for a full week!

Saturday and Sunday it warmed up to the 40s and 50s, so much melted until yesterday and today when we received another 3-4 inches of snow. That means the younger boys were home from school again today, after being sent home early around 1:00 yesterday, and having the entire week off last week! If we have any more snow days, they'll be going to school in July.

Still, one can't complain when watching the God's awesome weather. It truly causes us to see Who is in charge and the greatness of His power! Tired of winter? Why should I be? God planned it, and I've learned to realize He's pretty wise. So I'll just enjoy winter, come what may. Complaining about the snow, ice, and cold does nothing to make it more bearable anyway.

We're set to get a winter storm! Now, while most people here are grabbing every food item off every shelf in every store, we at the Dunn household are excited and almost holding our breath in anticipation!

We're all back into the swing of education. Noah made the A/B honor roll again this quarter. The other boys in his class told me he was the smartest boy in their class. They didn't think there was any possible way they could get the grades he gets. It makes a mother's heart a little proud in a good way, until I remember having all those boys in junior church and realizing that, for the most part, it's a behavior problem rather than an intelligence problem on their part. At least Noah is well-behaved.

Ahhhh, the joys of trying to be faithful in eating healthfully and exercising regularly. I just remind myself during my two or three mile walk several days a week, that God is good. I am so blessed. I can walk. I can exercise. I can feed myself. I can choose the proper nutritional foods to eat. How many people in this world cannot say that? How many have to be lifted out of bed daily, or have their joints exercised by another, or even be spoon-fed by another. I am truly blessed.

Have a truly lovely day, week, or whatever space of time it is until I update this again!
